Description
Meridian Surgery Center is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our fast-paced general surgery clinic and ambulatory surgery center in Puyallup, Washington.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with an experienced general surgeon and a great clinical team in an elective, medically necessary surgical practice. The practice focuses on hernias, gallbladder surgery and other general surgical procedures, with no trauma and no emergency call.
The PA will work closely with the surgeon's patients throughout the consultation, pre-operative and post-operative process. There is also an opportunity to assist in the operating room, with training provided for candidates who have limited surgical assisting experience.
Position Highlights:
- Weekdays only, Monday through Friday
- Approximately 9:00 AM–2:30 PM
- Part-time, approximately 0.6–0.75 FTE
- No call
- No weekends
- Major holidays off
- Elective, medically necessary general surgery — no trauma

The surgeon performs approximately 12–19 cases per week, including hernia, gallbladder and other general surgical procedures.
Meridian Surgery Center is a physician-led ambulatory surgery center in Puyallup, Washington. The center provides an efficient outpatient environment where the clinical team can focus on patient care without the demands of hospital-based emergency and trauma surgery.
Compensation is $120,000–$160,000 annually on a full-time-equivalent basis, prorated for the part-time schedule.

Requirements
- Current Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification and licensure
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience
- General surgery experience strongly preferred; surgical or operating room experience is helpful but not required
- Experience with clinical consultation and management of pre-operative and post-operative patients
- ACLS and BLS certification
- Current DEA registration
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate Washington State licensure and clinical credentials
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment
- Willingness to assist in the operating room; training will be provided for candidates who need additional surgical assisting experience
