Lead a Level II Trauma Program with a Strong Foundation and Room to Grow
Bryan Health, through Bryan Physician Network, is seeking a Trauma Medical Director (TMD) to lead its Level II ACS-verified Trauma Program in Lincoln, Nebraska. About the Role
The Trauma Medical Director provides clinical and administrative leadership for the trauma service line and holds primary responsibility for maintaining the program's Level II ACS Verification and Level II State Trauma Center Designation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to an established trauma team of eight trauma surgeons and 10 specially trained trauma advanced practice providers
- Review the current program structure and implement changes to ensure patient care needs are consistently met
- Schedule and oversee ICU coverage in coordination with the trauma team
- Lead Grand Rounds, outreach, and educational initiatives
- Develop and implement trauma performance improvement (PI) initiatives
- Guide trauma program development and strategic planning
- Provide clinical oversight and strategic direction across the trauma and acute care surgery service line
- Collaborate extensively with other specialties to support comprehensive trauma care
- Ensure ongoing compliance with state and national trauma certification standards
- Oversee trauma education, injury prevention, and community engagement programs
- Represent the trauma program at local, regional, and national meetings
- Partner closely with EMS agencies and referring hospital networks

Requirements
Candidate Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible surgical critical care surgeon
- Previous experience as a Trauma Medical Director or significant experience in a trauma leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive program growth
- Ability and willingness to reside in the Lincoln community for this full-time position
